Drone’s eye view of the studio of [dNASAb].
Film + Text by Justin Namon @whofpv
“I had the opportunity to meet [dNASAb] +Desiree after they relocated his studio of 20 years in Brooklyn, NY to South Florida. Instigated by a need be closer to the “ecosystems” that inform [dNASAb]’s work, to “flip the script” on the dingy over-priced warehouse studio rentals, and turn a mid-century modern home into an immersive art house studio+showroom. He’s a creative artist who uses mixed mediums to convey the juxtaposition of nature and industrialism echoing a discord in the social acceptance of plastic culture. You will find reclaimed plastic and styro-foam transformed into “living sculptures” and “video ecosystems” that are otherworldly and natural at the same time. Video projection mapping and multi-channel audio enliven the pieces, and highlight an environmental crisis we are dealing with in real-time.What a collection and unique way to explore ideas concerning the intersection of art, technnology and environmentalism. I decided not to apply any speed ups to emphasize the size of this space and the path chosen to show it. Cant wait to see his new space in Wynwood!”
